2.7 Exercise 2 - Create document types - dropdown for document type doesn't show (Reference SPA FAQ)

Training environment: https://brx-content-training09.bloomreach.io/
I’ve followed the instructions in exercise 2, created a document type for (FAQ). But when I go to the Documents from the dropdown and try to add the FAQ document to the (Create FAQ) project I don’t see the option (Reference SPA FAQ) in the dropdown for document type in the last step of the exercise.

Please note that the same issue is happening with a couple of people who are going through the training in my organisation.
Many thanks

Hi @mnash

Could you please also share the screenshot where you created FAQ document type in cms?

Hi @Rajesh_Sailada please see attached

To me it seems like whether or not a newly added content type shows up in the dropdown list depends on when the blue “Done” button is clicked, when creating the content type?

If you:

Content → Content types → New document type
Add Name and select layout
Add a field (or even don’t add any fields)
Hit blue “Done” button

Then go:

Content → Documents → Ellipsis on folder → Edit allowed content… → ‘Select a content type to add it as allowed content’ dropdown DOES contain the newly added content type

If you start the process again, adding another new content type:

Content → Content types → New document type
Add Name and select layout
Add a field (or even don’t add any fields)
Hit “Save” button (do not use “Done” button)

Content → Documents → Ellipsis on folder → Edit allowed content… → ‘Select a content type to add it as allowed content’ dropdown DOESNT contain the newly added content type

Go back to the new content type, hit the blue “Done” button
Go back to the ‘Select a content type to add it as allowed content’ dropdown, still DOESNT contain the newly added content type.

No action seems to make the newly added content type appear in the list now?

Separately to the above, it seems like if you create new content types with the same name but different cases you can create some “unexpected” behaviours too (error pop ups, a second save saves the same name but with different case)? It looks like the dropdown list we’re referencing here “lowercases” all the content type names. Seems like a separate issue though.
