Hippo cms receiving 500 error

Steps

1. sign in to cms not the console
2. navigate to channel
3. click on the channel
4. it gives error 500 and just keeps loading

Hi,
A 500 is an internal server error and there must be something in the backend (Tomcat) logs with more information.
